All-on-X dental implants replace an entire arch of teeth with a fixed, full-arch restoration anchored to a small number of strategically placed implants. The "X" refers to the number of implants needed to securely support your new teeth, which we determine based on your individual anatomy rather than a one-size-fits-all formula. For patients in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, and Palm Beach Gardens who are living with failing teeth, missing teeth, or dentures that never quite feel stable, this approach offers a way to rebuild a complete smile that stays in place.
All-on-X treatment is designed for adults who need to replace most or all of the teeth in the upper arch, the lower arch, or both. That might mean someone who has lost several teeth over time and is tired of piecing together partial solutions. It might also mean someone whose remaining teeth are badly damaged by decay or advanced gum disease and can no longer be reliably saved. Many of the people who ask us about this option already wear complete or partial dentures and want something that doesn't shift, slip, or need to come out at night.
Because the restoration is supported by implants rather than resting on the gums alone, it functions as a fixed implant-supported bridge spanning the full arch. Our office brings general, cosmetic, periodontal, surgical, and prosthodontic capabilities together under one roof, so the planning, implant placement, and final restoration can be coordinated by a team that already works side by side.
Your first visit is a conversation as much as an examination. We'll perform a thorough dental exam, review your health history, and evaluate the condition of your remaining teeth, gums, and jawbone. Bone volume matters because implants need a solid foundation. If the bone has thinned in certain areas, which is common after teeth have been missing for a while, bone grafting may be recommended to strengthen those sites before or during implant placement.
We also look closely at gum health. Active gum disease needs to be addressed before implants are placed, and our team provides gum disease treatment, scaling and root planing, and periodontal maintenance to get your mouth ready. If any teeth need to come out, we perform both simple and surgical extractions in-house. To help you prepare for your consultation, it can be useful to think about a few questions ahead of time:
- How long have you been missing teeth or wearing dentures?
- Do you have any medical conditions or take medications that affect healing?
- Do you feel anxious about dental procedures?
- Are you hoping to treat one arch or both?
Moving Through Treatment With Confidence
Once we've gathered the information we need, we'll walk you through a personalized treatment plan that explains each phase, from any necessary extractions or grafting to implant placement and the design of your new teeth. Because we handle complex treatment planning across multiple specialties, your plan accounts for every piece of the puzzle rather than treating each step in isolation. We also offer cosmetic smile-design consultations and digital smile design, so the appearance of your new teeth can be considered thoughtfully alongside function.
We understand that full-arch treatment can feel like a big decision, and some patients feel nervous about surgery. For those who would like help relaxing, we offer oral sedation. We'll talk through what that involves and whether it's a good fit for you, so you can approach your procedure feeling calm and informed.
Caring for Your New Smile
Healing and long-term care are just as important as the procedure itself. After your implants are placed, we'll give you clear instructions for the healing period, including guidance on eating, cleaning, and what to watch for as your mouth adjusts. Implants need time to integrate with the jawbone, and following these guidelines supports a smooth recovery.
Over the long term, your full-arch restoration still needs regular attention. Our team provides implant maintenance, and our dental hygienists can help keep the gums around your implants healthy with professional cleanings tailored to implant restorations. Routine exams also let us check the fit and condition of your restoration over time. If repairs or adjustments are ever needed, we're equipped to handle them right here.
Insurance and Payment Options
We accept all major PPO insurance plans and are happy to help you understand how your coverage may apply to the different phases of All-on-X treatment, such as extractions, grafting, implants, and the final restoration. Coverage varies widely from plan to plan, so we'll review your specific situation with you before treatment begins.
We also welcome self-pay patients. During your consultation, we'll go over the costs associated with your individual plan so there are no surprises along the way.
If you're ready to explore whether All-on-X dental implants are right for you, we'd love to meet you. Reach out to our West Palm Beach office to schedule a consultation, and let's talk about rebuilding a smile you can count on.
