Invisalign straightens teeth with a series of clear, removable aligners instead of brackets and wires. Each aligner is shaped to apply gentle, gradual pressure. As you move from one set to the next, your teeth shift step by step toward the position we planned together. At Family Dental Care in West Palm Beach, we offer Invisalign as part of our orthodontic care. That means your aligner treatment happens in the same office where you get your cleanings, exams, and everyday dental care.

Invisalign is a type of clear aligner therapy. Rather than one fixed appliance that gets adjusted over time, you receive a sequence of custom trays. Each tray is slightly different from the one before. Because the aligners are clear, most people around you won't notice them. Because they're removable, you take them out to eat, brush, and floss, then put them back in.

Our orthodontic care serves both children and adults, so Invisalign isn't limited to one stage of life. A working professional in Palm Beach Gardens who never had braces as a teen, a parent whose teeth have shifted over the years, and an older child whose smile needs straightening may all be good fits. Whether aligners suit your specific situation is something we decide together after an exam.

Being a good candidate starts with a healthy foundation. Before we plan tooth movement, we want to know your teeth and gums are ready for it. That's why we begin with a dental exam. If we find cavities or signs of gum disease, we can address them here first with fillings, cleanings, or gum disease treatment. Then aligner therapy starts on solid ground.

Commitment matters just as much as clinical factors. Aligners only work while they're in your mouth. Patients who do best are comfortable with a few routines:

  • Wearing their aligners consistently, as directed, throughout the day and night
  • Removing aligners before eating or drinking anything other than water
  • Brushing before putting aligners back in, so food isn't trapped against the teeth
  • Switching to each new set of aligners on the schedule we provide
  • Keeping their regular check-in visits so we can track progress

If you're honest with yourself that this routine would be a struggle, tell us. We'd rather talk through it upfront than have you start a treatment that doesn't fit your life.

Aftercare and Protecting Your Results

Finishing your last set of aligners is a milestone, but it isn't the end of the job. Teeth naturally tend to drift back toward where they started. That's why a retainer is part of keeping your new smile in place. We'll explain how and when to wear it, and we can provide replacement retainers when you need them. We also provide retainers for patients who completed orthodontic treatment somewhere else. If you've moved to the area or lost track of your old retainer, we can still help.

Day-to-day aligner care is simple. Rinse your trays when you remove them, clean them gently, and store them in their case instead of wrapping them in a napkin, where they're easy to throw away by accident. Keep up with your regular cleanings throughout treatment and afterward, so our hygienist can keep your gums healthy while your teeth move. If you grind your teeth at night, mention it. We also make night mouth guards and can talk about protecting your teeth once treatment is complete.

Coordinated Care Under One Roof

One of the practical advantages of getting Invisalign with us is that it doesn't have to stand alone. Dr. Michael Westcott and Dr. Sujay Trivedi practice both general and cosmetic dentistry. Some patients straighten their teeth first and then move on to whitening, composite bonding, or veneers. Others use Digital Smile Design to see how tooth position fits into a bigger cosmetic plan. Doing these steps in the right order often makes each one more effective.

Because we also offer emergency appointments, you have a familiar team to call if something unexpected happens during treatment, such as a chipped tooth or sudden discomfort. Patients from West Palm Beach, Palm Beach, and Palm Beach Gardens appreciate having one office that knows their full dental history.

Insurance and Payment

We accept all major PPO insurance plans. Many plans include some orthodontic benefits, so we're happy to help you understand what your coverage may apply toward. Before treatment begins, we'll go over the costs with you so there are no surprises.

We also welcome self-pay patients. If you don't have dental insurance, you can still move forward with Invisalign at our office. Ask our team to walk you through your options during your consultation.
